This special edition continues my exploration of ordinary objects transformed into hyperreal glass. The sculpture depicts a plastic bag filled with water, inside of which a Swedish Fish candy seems to swim. At first glance, it reads as playful and nostalgic, evoking childhood treats and the casual joy of improvisation.
But the work is more than whimsy. The bag and water are sculpted from glass, while the candy is meticulously rendered in ceramic and enamel. Something that feels soft, momentary, and disposable is instead frozen in a delicate, permanent state. The piece occupies a tension between delight and fragility, playfulness and pause, inviting the viewer to reconsider what feels solid—and what could slip away at any moment.
